Launchy

Launchy: Keystroke Launcher

How many times have you forgotten where a specific file resides on your computer? Sometimes  you just need to run a software by just a few keystroke instead of searching for it from the search-box in the start menu. Launchy is a freeware utility that indexes start menu programs, desktop icons, your favorite folders and even your bookmarks to allow you to open nearly anything you want in a split second.

After installing Launchy, it will run in the background, all you have to do is to click “alt+space” and a small box pops up and by typing just a few keys it will start searching its list of indexed programs and files and displays a list of the closest matches. BoyGeniusReport posted today early screenshots of Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac which reveal the decent enhancements that Microsoft is trying to introduce for its office products. There are pictures of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 2011.

The Greatest addition would be Outlook, as this will be the first time Microsoft includes Outlook in the Mac Office Suite. From the screenshots, it seems that Outlook 2011 is very similar to 2010 windows version.

Microsoft Office 2011 will also be replacing the old framework “Carbon” with the new ” Cocoa”, and will support Office Web Applications and Mac users will be able to import files with “.PST” extensions from the Windows version.
